As Wine Director for
a reputable restaurant and renowned wine shop, I relish
in the challenge of guiding the evolution of our exciting
wine program. The kitchen’s commitment to excellence
demands that we nurture the growth of a purposeful and
carefully-selected wine list to complement our fine
cuisine. Our wine list is also dotingly expanded with
approachability, value and quality always in mind.
While special attention is paid to showcasing
award-winning wines from California’s Central
Coast, we also avidly seek boutique and international
wines as well as uncommon varietals from classic and
emerging wine regions. Central Coast depth is thus complemented
by new and old world breath, personality and variety.
We currently offer over 500 wines, with
many of these also available for sale in the wine shop
adjoining our Cafe and wine bar. The infamous wine wall
gives our Cafe patrons the opportunity to leisurely
browse and explore our Central Coast offerings.
Our wine list is constantly evolving,
offering over 50 weekly by-the-glass specials, as well
as several high-end wines, typically only available
by the bottle, by the glass. Our wine program also includes
a wine club, monthly wine specials, quarterly winemaker
dinners, and weekly themed tastings.
We are also the official tasting room for Bernat Wines,
a winery established by Sam Marmostein, the Cafe’s
owner. Sam planted three acres in 1996, with his first
estate vintage released in 1999 to appreciative reviews.
