This Cabernet Franc comes from the warmer East end of the Santa Ynez Valley in Happy Canyon. The warm climate makes for the perfect growing conditions for these grapes. The rocky soils of the foothills stress the vines into producing smaller clusters with richer flavors. This wine was aged 20 months in French oak barrels which produced a full bodied wine with a deep plum color. Lovely aromatics of ripe blueberries, lavender and allspice segue to flavors of blackberries, dark chocolate and dried herbs. This is a nicely balanced wine with rich velvety tannins. Pair with herb rubbed lamb chops and oven-roasted potatoes.
