Foxen Wines. . . from heart of the California Wine Country:
“Foxen continues to go from strength to strength, no matter what the varietal . . . .The winery has been on a hot streak and just about every wine they have produced over recent vintages merits serious attention.”

Bill Wathen and Dick Doré, also known as "The Foxen Boys", founded Foxen Winery at the historic Rancho Tinaquaic in northern Santa Barbara County 1985. They have been making wine together ever since with same dedication throughout the years - to create very small-production, vineyard-designated wines using a "minimalist" approach to winemaking.
The Foxen Winery is located on land once owned by William Foxen, an English sea captain who purchased most of what is now Foxen Canyon (about 9,000 acres) in the late 1800s.
Co-owner Dick Dore is the great-great-grandson of Foxen. Captain Foxen adopted the distinctive "anchor" as his ranch cattle brand, which has become a trademark of the winery. It is very fitting that Foxen Winery makes its home on the 2000-acre Rancho Tinaquaic, which remains in family hands.
The Foxen Winery tasting room was featured in the movie, Sideways (the small tasting room, once Dor’s great-grandfather’s blacksmith shop, is featured in a split-screen sequence of the movie when Jack helps himself to the wine when the pourer goes to help another customer).
Foxen wines continue to receive high acclaim and outstanding reviews. Foxen Winery is located at 7200 Foxen Canyon Road, Santa Maria, Santa Barbara County, California, USA,
