Product Information:
Winemaker's notes: The Estrella clone cofermented with 7% Viognier (R and 1 clone from Vogelzang). Barrel aged for 20 months in 50% new French Oak. Peter Palmer adds: A monster Syrah. Dark and brooding blue black in color. Thick and rich smelling; well structured on the palate. Boysenberry, maple, black fruit compote, and floral apricot. Finishes with new leather and charcoal briquettes. This one is for the cellar.
WineSpectator Review:
Smooth and concentrated, displaying rich, vibrant blackberry and wild berry fruit, with hints of mineral and pebble and a touch of leather. Drink now through 2011.
Parker Review:
A barrel sample of this elegant, pretty Syrah exhibits good acidity, a leaner, more restrained and austere character than previous Bonaccorsi Syrahs I have tasted (the vintage no doubt has something to do with that), plenty of freshness, and a mediumbodied, dry, crisp finish. It comes across as a lighter weight CrozesHermitage from France.
