Belle Glos 2011 Pinot Noir, 'Meiomi', Monterey, Santa Barbara, and Sonoma Counties, California Wine, 750ml
Meiomi meaning "coast" in the language of the California wappo tribe, truly symbolizes the origin of this Pinot Noir. Each of the vineyards chosen for Meiomi offers the best expression of their appellations along the California coast: a layered blend of Santa Barbara's spice-filled aromas; Sonoma's bright berry flavors; and Monterey's rich textures. the wines are carefully crafted so that these characteristics continue to enhance and build on each other for an evocative and memorable Pinot Noir.

Bouchard 2009. Pommard-1er Cru, Bourgogne, French Wine, 750ml
A notably ripe yet elegant and admirably pure nose features both hints of stone and earth that can also be found on the detailed, precise and energetic middle weight flavors that possess relatively fine tannins and excellent length. There is good buffering sap and I very much like the balance of this classy effort. Comments: Sweet spot Outstanding.

Brundlmayer 2008, Pinot Noir, Langenlois, Austrian Wine, 750ml
One of my favorite wines from the 2012 Terry Thiese tasting I went to in February. For those that love earthy, rich, but feminine styles of Pinot Noir - this will be the trickster in any blind tasting.
It has the wonderful fruit of ’08, with a bit of “toasty oak” to absorb still, but lots of violets and blackberries in a cool,
refined style, with a little pebbly tannin. Stylish in its way
