Epoch 2010 Syrah, 'Block B', Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles, California Wine, 750 ml
98 Points The Rhone Report
"Even better, but made in a more fresh, elegant frame, the 2010 Block B is an absolutely thrilling blend of 100% Syrah, aged in 82% new French oak, that comes from a single block of the estate vineyards. Showing gorgeous purity and depth, with clean, fresh aromas of black currants, wet stone like minerality, pepper, spice, and chalk, it is full-bodied, perfectly put together, and balanced, with a blockbuster, structured finish. My favorite of the lineup up and a complete wine, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age, and will thrill for over a decade. "

Fanny Sabre 2009, Meursault, 'Sous La Velle', French Wine, 750ml
This is spectacular on every front. Great freshness and acid for a ripe vintage, amazing aromas of almonds, hazelnuts, pear, baked apple, and only a faint suggestion of oak. It will last for 7+ years in a cool cellar given the acidity, balance, and pure awesomeness of this bottle.

Frequency 2011 GSM (60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre), Central Coast, California Wine, 750ml
As the base of the wine, the Grenache creates a round blanketing texture that expresses a candied cinnamon nose and flavors of ripe red fruit with crushed minerals. The Colson Canyon Syrah brings additional velvety texture, layered with blackberries, cassis, licorice and chocolate. Finally the Rancho de Cielo Mourvedre holds the backbone of the wine. The Mourvedre’s acidic tension and tannic structure builds subtle scaffolding which provides great age ability. Enjoy this wine now with a few hours of decanting through 2020.

Germano 2008, Brut Bianco, Alta Langa, Piemonte, Italian Wine, 750ml
The base wine for the Germano Alta Langa is 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. In April, after the primary fermentation, the wines are blended together, bottled, and the second fermentation begins, lasting 4-6 months. Twenty months of lees aging in the bottle follows, then the wine is disgorged.

Grgich Hills 2008, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California Wine, 750ml
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast
The wine presents an old-fashioned style, marked by hard, numbing tannins that frame ripe flavors of blackberries, licorice, cherries, mocha and black currants. Hard to tell where it's going beyond the next six years, but give it a proper decanting and drink with roasted or grilled meats.

Hamilton Russell 2010 Pinot Noir Hemel-en-Aarde Valley South Africa, 750 ml
Hamilton Russell have been quietly producing some of the world's most thrilling Pinot Noir in South Africa's spectacular Hemel-en-Aarde Valley for years. From clay- and iron-laced shale soils, this Pinot Noir exhibits a strong sense of minerality, along with notes of light red fruits, spice, scorched earth, and roses.

Happy Canyon Vineyards 2010 Merlot, Happy Canyon, California Wine, 750ml
The aromas in the wine are quite powerful. There are layers of complexity that complement the luscious flavors of perfectly ripe Merlot. In the mouth there is chocolate laced with cherry fruit. With a lovely softness around a structured wine with just enough tannin and a nice bright acidity, the wine complements cuisine. The fine tannin support the abundant fruit. The finish is long and concentrated with hints of sweet oak.
